January 2026 Update

As you may know, our brothers and sisters in Haiti have endured an extraordinarily challenging season. Since 2019, the nation has been crippled by escalating gang violence, compounded by the assassination of Haiti’s president in 2021. During this time, Onaville Green Project Ministries (OGPM) has continued to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ—though often in ways very different from what was originally planned. In many respects, the past several years have reflected Psalm-like seasons of suffering, endured through trust in God alone.
The widespread gang violence forced the majority of Onaville residents to flee their homes. For a time, some members of the OGPM family remained, but this led to tragic consequences, including the kidnapping of the daughter of one of our Haitian OGPM board members (she was later safely returned). As violence continued to escalate, OGPM was forced—on Good Friday in 2022—to abandon all churches, schools, and water stations in Onaville.
While displaced, OGPM has faithfully answered God’s call over the past several years by continuing to minister to people—spiritually and physically—where they have fled and become refugees once again. This has included Pastor Noel establishing a large and growing congregation in his own home and yard, now numbering over 400 people. In addition, God has led OGPM to construct two church buildings in areas where displaced Onaville residents have resettled. One church in Bon Repos has now been operating for two years. Today, construction is nearing completion on a very large church building—nicknamed the Tabernacle—located approximately a quarter mile from Pastor Noel’s home near the Port-au-Prince airport.
At this time, we can report:
People continue to hear the Gospel, and new believers are joining the Kingdom every week. Praise God!
All Onaville Green churches have resumed worship services (with the exception of Church #1, which remains too visible to be safe).
Schools and water stations remain closed due to ongoing security concerns.
Short-term mission trips are not possible at this time because of safety risks.
Several churches—including the new Tabernacle—are providing food and housing for families during times of crisis.
Our micro-loan program must be rebuilt, as the local sustaining economy has been devastated.
How can you help?
Prayer
Pray for peace to overtake Haiti. Pray for gangs to surrender their weapons and instead embrace God and their neighbors. Pray for God’s provision, safety, and presence for our brothers and sisters, and for His continued guidance, strength, and protection for pastors, elders, and church congregations.
Giving
Each month, OGPM continues to provide salaries for church pastors, as their congregations are currently unable to support them directly. We also maintain weekly feeding programs and ongoing construction efforts. Your regular gift enables Pastor Noel and his team to continue this vital ministry.
Support
Words of encouragement mean a great deal to the leaders and pastors within the Onaville Green team. Please use our contact form to share your prayerful support and encouragement.
Hope lives in Jesus Christ!
